Create a field ownership matrix
For every required field, record the source system, source object, business owner, transformation rule, validation, default policy and exception path.
Test real complexity
Include credit notes, discounts, allowances, tax categories, multiple entities, self-billing, agents and data that currently exists only in free text or manual spreadsheets.
Make errors operational
Define how rejected messages and missing fields reach the right users, how corrections are made and how evidence is retained.
